Social Justice Empowerment

Drugs De-addiction, Mental healthcare and Education for Special Kids:

Utkarsh runs regular programs towards social justice and empowerment by bringing to the fore the neglected population that includes mental health patients, drug addicts and persons with disability.

We have set up the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Empowerment Centre for Drugs De-addiction and Mental Illness Care (Counselling and Meditation) at Mulund West, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Centre conducts regular counselling and medication programs where they can resume their lives as respected and be the responsible citizens of the country. It is not just awareness and medicines that they need to overcome addiction but the care and love from the society, which is Utkarsh attempt to provide. Utkarsh also aiming to provide employment opportunities to those who are ignored by the society by giving them a responsibility to sell the Utkarsh’s products like cloth bags.

Utkarsh lends support, initiates free bus service for the students of Mulund Rotary School for the Deaf.

Today, on September 23, as a part of its campaign ‘Education for All’, Utkarsh launched a free school bus service for students at the Mulund Rotary School for the Deaf. The event was attended by eminent citizens, teachers, parents, students and Utkarsh team. The school bus service is aimed at ensuring the children gets a convenient and comfortable commute to and from school. The parents of the children were happy to receive a safe and trustworthy bus service for their kids. Teachers and the guests present at the inauguration function also lauded the initiative of Utkarsh and termed it as relevant and much-needed.

September 23 was chosen as the day for the inauguration of the bus service because today is the International Day for Sign Languages, a day significant to the promotion and use of sign languages.
